DCX Bass Tone Shaper & Drive features
The DCX Bass offers a vast range of gain, from clean boosts and direct-to-console sounds to edge-of-breakup and low-gain drives, and even to almost fuzz-like tones reminiscent of retro recording consoles with cranked input gains. Throughout this range, the pedal maintains a completely flat frequency response, much like a great recording preamp.
When in EQ mode, the Adaptive Circuitry ensures that the top end response remains flat when the pedal is set to clean, gradually rolling off treble as the tone begins to overdrive. This is dependent on playing dynamics and guitar volume knob changes, resulting in a smooth transition between warm overdrive tones and sparkling cleans. Conversely, when in OD mode, this top end roll-off is constantly active, regardless of signal level or playing dynamics.
Taking inspiration from the legendary UA 610 preamp, the DCX Bass features EQ and OD modes that offer a versatile gain range. Specifically designed for maximum clarity, the EQ controls ensure that each note and nuance can be heard with absolute precision.
